Human traffickers and those exploiting men, women and children for their work use well-established tactics to conceal their crimes and physically and psychologically diminish their victims.

It is common for victims of trafficking or forced work to not recognise themselves as victims.

There are resources available to help you spot the signs of modern slavery or forced work.

The welfare of anyone you suspect as a victim should come first.

If you believe someone is at direct and immediate risk of harm, please contact the police on 999 or your local police station. If you have concerns about an indvidual(s) but want to talk it through with an expert before you take action, call the Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700.

Reports can also be made to the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority about the mistreatment of workers on 0800 432 0804, or by email intelligence@gla.gov.uk
