How We Work

The responsibility for tackling counterfeiting falls across international jurisdictions, public and private sector actors, and government departments. It demands a whole-system response that recognises the interconnectedness of sustainability, human rights abuses and poly-criminality.

The Fake Fashion & Forced Labour programme takes a coordinated response to counterfeiting by working across policy reform, operational enforcement, public awareness and corporate accountability. By addressing both the supply and demand, the programme targets the root causes of counterfeiting, from gaps in regulation and enforcement to consumer normalisation and corporate inaction.

Our strategy is designed to drive systemic change, strengthening protections for people at risk of exploitation, disrupting illicit supply chains, and reframing counterfeit fashion as a serious crime with real human consequences.
